Neurosingers was founded by Amanda Tiruwuha, and her sister Sarem Tiruwuha. During the pandemic, the two enjoyed singing together and listening to music.
Then, their grandfather passed away due to Alhzeimers. The two had never met their grandfather, and really hoped to one day. But now their dreams were crushed.
Amanda took it upon herself to figure out WHY Alhzeimer’s exists. She read books, movies, testimonials, you name it. She even began reading about other neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's Disease. And one thing she noticed was the impact of hope. These sufferers were able to come to hope and clarity because of the support given by their family, friends, doctors, researchers, and hobbies. It was at this moment she knew she wanted to give sufferers of these diseases hope.
Amanda told her sister about this, and the two tried to think of something that could raise money for neurodegenerative disease research, that the two of them and others would enjoy. And the answer that came to them was singing and research. These were the two things that brought them comfort after the passing of their grandfather. And they believed that it would also bring others comfort.
Over the summer of 2024, Amanda composed a team of researchers, singers, and officers. Together, they post research and perform at venues to raise money for the monthly neurodegenerative disease.
This Non-profit is something that has the power to not only impact neurodegenerative disease research, but also the hope patients feel. By focusing on the mental and physical aspects of these diseases, it is then that change truly happens.
